When good advice comes free with every purchase, there is not only the knowledge that you have made an informed choice, but whatever that purchase was, you know that it was appropriate. If it was a fish, you know it will survive; if it was a dry product, you know it will work and if it was a treatment, you know it will be effective. You certainly wont find it in the 'pile 'em high, flog 'em cheap' DIY sheds. It has been in existence since 1984 and is the thriving creation of Mike Foley and his family. At the moment there are two staff.
Mike and his business may be out of the way in the back of beyond but he is definitely not out of touch. He has always had his finger firmly on the pulse of the Water Garden Industry for decades. He bought his first fish way back in 1947 when he was living in Eastham. He has actually been working in the aquatics trade since 1964 and ran a little pet shop in Pembroke Dock called Pentro Pets in 1970 that specialised in aquatics. From there he moved to a plot of land near Manobier where he built up his water garden centre. He never looked back from the day the business started and it has thrived from recommendation arising from customer satisfaction ever since.
Mike prides himself on his personal customer service and will source any product the customer feels as though he or she needs, although he thinks he stocks 99% of what you could possible ever want.
Despite the well worn look of some of the fixtures and fittings, the place is clean and tidy and well looked after. The stock in the tanks are in pristine condition and the whole site emanates the feeling of love and care that has nurtured it over so many years.
The 'dry goods', from the pond liners and the preformed fibre-glass ponds to the pumps and filters are all high quality or products that are exceptionally good value for money. Mike refuses to offer customers products that heMike kept stocking high quality fibre glass ponds when everyone was flogging cheap plastic preformed pools.: He knew that people who wanted to do the job properly would eventually resort to a product that would last and be big enough to make a properly balanced water garden. does not see as fit for purpose. He will only recommend products that he knows will work for you. He would never let you be taken in by some of the 'deals' that many manufacturers have tried in the past when they have tried to offload poorly designed products onto a gullible public.
